It is a static face seal using a high durometer O-ring for the seal and bolts for holding power. The O-ring seal is compressed between the bottom of the groove in the flange head adapter and the flat surface of the port, providing a perfect reliable sealing.
It is available in cut, uncut and metric threaded holes version to create variable methods of system installation.
